Roshika
is a fast and comfortable boat to sail. She is easily single-handed
in under 25 knots of wind, and she often surprises/outsails
many modern "faster" sailboats. With a big 155% Genoa she
goes well in light air, but also has a wonderful ride in
a seaway/high winds. Earlier this fall in 15 knots of wind
we were close hauled doing 6.5 knots, and as we cracked
off onto a reach we averaged 8 knots while having a great
time.
The
primary jib/Genoa winches are bronze selftailing, and the
main has a new Harken 5-1 sheeting system that makes handling
very easy. The primary self tailing winches are easily reached
from the helm. She has lazyjacks and a "tides track" system
on the mast so raising and lowering the main can be done
with one hand. She handles well at any speed, and will ghost
along in light airs or blast along when it's blowing! There
are no running back or check stays to deal with, which makes
handling her that much easier.
She has a wonderful interior with lots of varnished mahogany,
velvet and bronze and is very comfortable both above and
below decks and would make a great day sailor or cruising
boat that would be the talk of the harbor everywhere you
go.

Status Update: It's time to get ready
for another season. She is still looking great after all
of last years work, and she got a number of updates over
the course of the season. A new Balmar 80 amp alternator
and smart regulator, 2 new Rule bilgepumps and float switches,
and more. Last spring she has new bottom, topsides, and
cabin paint, as well as 8 coats of varnish on all the brightwork.
I rebedded and refastened all the deck hardware and stanchions,
cleaned the diesel and water tanks, tuned the engine and
greased the winches. By all accounts she is in great cosmetic
and structural shape. She is a turn key proposition ready
to sail or motor just about anywhere. She will turn heads
in any harbor, sails wonderfully and looks great. Please
call or email for more information and to schedule a viewing.
